Men, Takest Thou A Tip From Romeo
// December 24th, 2008 // Blog

Did my heart love till now?
Forswear it, sight.
For I ne'er saw true beauty till
this night.
Act 1, Scene 5, Romeo & Juliet, William Shakespeare.
Speakest thou such sweet words to thine blushing bride on her wedding night, to win Juliet's tender heart for all eternity.
Just a suggestion.

“But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet* is the sun.” (act 2, scene 2) ~ *sub in Fatima, Maryam, Zulaykha,….as necessary (^_- ) I love Romeo & Juliet, def a good tip for the husbands-to-be
I once had to play Romeo in an English class presentation.
I forgot my lines.
Practical.
You begin with the plural (‘men’) and ask with the singular (‘thou’). And when you ask, you don’t use the imperative (‘takest’ doesn’t belong here). If I want to woo my wife I won’t refer to hamfisted Romeos for advice. Uff- scientists!
Umm.. okay anon! Someone is taking this a little too seriously. :)
Though it may explain why I missed out on the A star in GCSE English Literature.
Haha, remind me of the poem Shahriar wrote for me, 2 days before i accept his proposition. And you know the result!! :D
Romeo is a pipe dream.
Not a big fan of Romeo & Juliet, myself. Besides, his excessive love got in the way of rational thought, and lead to the death of his love and his own death.
You’re better off finding someone with some brains instead of someone with overwhelming passion.
(Yes, I may have finally crawled out of my hole. Explanations eventually.)
Romeo is a nancy :D
Perhaps… but he certainly knew how to woo the laydeez. Well, Bill Shakespeare did, anyhoo.
(Faraz, no explanation necessary… it’s all part of the trend of newly weds ‘disappearing’).
Well, it’s actually less to do with marriage, and more related to a constant parade of circumstances from injury to community work to travel to janazahs and a bunch of other things. I haven’t disappeared at all, I’ve just disappeared from the internet.
Well, from my perspective, you only exist in the realm of the internet. Thus your internet disappearance is rather significant.
Hey, I use this line all the time with sisters!
Ohhh yeaaahhhhh :D
Some sisters however don’t deserve any compliments or anything like that, they just eat it up and get more uptight. Actually, the best way to see into a sisters personality is how she REACTS to a compliment…
But I wouldn’t know much about that, I’m the one that gets all the compliments from them. :P
