Islam Expo & Other Stuff
// July 12th, 2008 // Photos
A very quick note… I went to Islam Expo today… lots happened… very cool stuff, masha’Allah… but I can’t tell you now! In the mean time, check out my photos on Flickr.

Oh, and I have “outed” myself at the Expo, pretty much. I had a bunch of snazzy business cards printed off to give out to anyone I thought needed to be convinced that I was a serious blogger-type person. I know… it was tough!
Unfortunately, the timing was off. I didn’t put “Dr” so-n-so on the business card, cos I am paranoid about using the title until I have official confirmation from the University of London that I have passed, in the form of a proper certificate. Well, the official confirmation decided to turn up two months early, just after I left the house to pick up the cards! Ah well… I am happy either way, alhamdulillah!

that’s some pretty nice pictures! I wish I could be there too, where is it? Kheyr InshaAllah :)
Was gona go today … all underground was cut off … man under a train or something

Hey, I wanna see a picture of the business card! :D
Heartiest Congratulations on receiving the ‘title’ :p May Allah have a thousand blessings stored in it for you… and the Ummah too!
Valentina – thanks! The event was based at the Kensington Olympia in London.
Sabeur – there were also a lot of engineering works this weekend, which made travelling from East London a right pain, subhanallah! It is quite freaky when they tell you that there is someone under the train though… Did you go in the end?
Mouse – I am gonna e-mail the pdf to MM insha’Allah.
misspecs – Ameen thumma Ameen!
Nice, this event coincided with Journey of Faith in Toronto which was totally awesome!
Sh. Tawfique Chawdhry (u/w?) was a really informative, charismatic and heart-softening speak, ma sha’Allah. Londoners are blessed to have him as a teacher at AlKauthar (u/w?) Institute.
We’re soo excited to have AlKawthar come to Toronto in the Fall. Have you heard his lectures iMuslim?
I am glad you enjoyed this weekend too! I am familiar with the Shaykh via MuslimMatters, but I have not attended any of his workshops yet, unfortunately. Insha’Allah, I will try soon…
