Some Weird Facts About Moi

// November 25th, 2007 // Blog

Yet another tag has hit the blogosphere. I was in two minds about joining in this time – cos, y'know – i am a serious blogger now. Ahem. Not really… I had it confused with the seven random facts tag so wasn't so keen to repeat myself. Lazy, lazy, lazy me.

Da roolz:
1. Link to the person that tagged you, and post da roolz on your blog.
2. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Even though I admit to being incredibly weird, i'm not sure i can list seven points here (that wouldn't land me in prison) so please fo'give if i come up short. Oh yeah, i was tagged by darling hema and luscious Leila.

  1. I pick up other people's accents and mannerisms very easily. I cringe no end when i catch myself doing it. It makes me wonder how much of “me” is really “me”.
  2. I can be very stubborn yet easily impressionable, at the same time, on the same subject.
  3. My room is a tip, with paperwork strewn hither and tither, but i don't care. Yet i start freaking if my e-mails are not listed by order of receipt, in the appropriate folders, or if there are too many files on my desktop, or if Finder opens a folder in icon view, rather than my preferred list view, and the files must be sorted by “kind” not “name”… etc etc.
  4. I think out loud way too much – in private, in public, and even in conversation.
  5. No matter how absolutely stuffed i am, I always have room for dessert. And i mean, always.
  6. I avoid TV programmes where people are ridiculed, even if they are fictional, as i am often left feeling more mortified with shame than the victim. This is the reason why i could never bring myself to watch an entire episode of I'm Alan Partridge – besides it being completely unfunny, of course.
  7. I did a PhD. Nuff said really.

Well, that wasn't so hard… yet i fear it is merely the tip of my iceberg of oddities.

I tag: Anonymouse, Mummyjaan, Organica, McPagal, Editor, Uniquey, gess, and Sumi.

Update: seeing as Sumi has already done the tag once before, i take it to mean that i can tag one more person in her place: i choose Shan!

  1. Shan says:

    You’re a linguistic accommodator. I think it’s nice.

  2. Sumera says:

You’re not weird at all! :D Ill def beat you in this game of weirdness

  3. hema says:

number two and five- me too!
    number three is funny!

  4. AnonyMouse says:

Haha, I’ve already been tagged twice with this one, but for some reason can’t bring myself to do it… it’s probably the fact that I’ve got three or so “serious” posts still sitting as drafts, so taking the time to do the tag would fill me with guilt (unfortunately, guilt isn’t always a strong motivator, especially for someone who’s such a professional procrastinator like me!) :S

  5. iMuslim says:

Shan: I should’ve tagged you… your list would’ve been a great read! In fact, consider yourself a marked man. :)

Sumi: Darn, i didn’t realise it was a competition! What’s the prize?

hema: Do you have a spare dessert stomach, too? ;)

Anonymouse: I have loads of stuff to write for MM… but can’t bring myself to do it. :( I think it will be easier from tomorrow, as i start back at work. I always blog best when i have something more important to do. :D

  6. safiya says:

    Salaam Alaikum,

Number 5: Me too. Always, always, always. A meal is not a proper meal without a dessert.

  7. Umm Layth says:

    wa alaykum as salam

I always HAVE to fit dessert in too! I love it! Whether it’s apple crisp, cheesecake, ice cream, baklawa, or a piece of of chocolate… it just makes the food I had feel complete. LOL

    You’re weird. ; )

  8. mummyjaan says:

I read no. 1 with surprise because I am prone to that too. It was something my parents always used to point out – to my annoyance. And I share no. 2 and 5.

Those are mostly random facts, iMuslim. Only the first one is weird :)

  9. Amna says:

Hi,visitng your blog for the very first time, its like a breath of fresh air and I would love to come by more often!

  10. iMuslim says:

    Assalamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullah peeps

Hmm… do you suppose number 5 is a general woman thing, and not just a “me” thing? :)

Mummyjaan.. if you read da roolz, they do ask one to list random/weird facts… ;)

I no doubt have weirder facts to share, but it would probably be easier for someone else to list them, than me! I can’t think of anything… stage fright?!

Welcome Amna – i look forward to seeing you more often. :)

  11. AnonyMouse says:

Nope, #5 doesn’t apply to me… if I’m full, I’m full and I can’t stand anything else! I’ll always scrounge around for leftover dessert later on, though! :p
BTW, #1 applies to me also… it’s odd and a bit unsettling because after hanging around some people for a while, I’ll catch myself adopting their mannerisms and sayings :S
