Feed Me
// April 24th, 2007 // Blog
My feed stats scare me a little… not the numbers… the weird looking chart:

I get the heeby-jeebies every time i visit the page; you could poke someone's eye out on them spikes!
I kid you not – i think i have peak-a-phobia! *wibble*

It’s like when you’re looking at the clouds…I can almost make a picture by staring at your chart…hey…*looks sideways*…scary
Do you really think that it’s scary – or are you just saying that to make me look more or less idiotic?
It really does unnerve me, y’know! It’s just a horrible shape… :(
take it to the gym, making it can shape up a bit
*Shakes head at you in disappointment*
It’s not scary, it’s SWEET!
What a cute little feed chart!
I think I’m gonna take it home, and hug it, and kiss it, and take care of it, and call it George!
Bah, you’re crazy, lady.
George is a terrible name for a feed chart!
How about Fred?
I think you’re both crazy.
If you’re going to be naming a feed chart, you need to go with something like “Ziggy”. Or Zigglefroo, if you’re so inclined.
It reminds me of the Rocky mountains I fly over twice a week.
As an aside, something weird happens occasionally when I click a link to a post from Google Reader: I get to the right post, but I get the comments for a different post.
Surely, there can only ever be one Mr Zigglefroo?
The comments thing happens to you, too?! It only happens to me when i post something new, and then i view the entry from my dashboard. I didn’t think it happened to anyone else, at any other time. I don’t know why it does that, and can’t fix it myself. Locked templates – the Achilles Heel of WP! :(
Zigglefroo has had some earlier incarnations. It first started off as the name of a terrible ball hockey team I put together; it just seemed like a bizarre enough name to represent a team that had little hope of winning. Although that team eventually was named “Hooptygoo” for some reason. We won one game and lost four, if I remember correctly. I think I’ve used it as a password on some
Well, I’m glad that the weird template thing doesn’t only happen to me; I kept thinking that I must have been seeing things wrong. And all this time, I thought WordPress could do no wrong, and that I was missing out by never making the switch. (Although, I did try it once, a while back.) And if I can’t modify my templates, I probably can’t stick in my little script for a daily updated comic… which is the only thing I have that makes my site worthwhile given the dearth and infrequency of my updates. Go Google!
Whoops, broke off midsentence… zigglefroo was a password for some old messageboard. You won’t be able to hack into my bank/e-mail/blogger account or anything else.
Hooptygoo… please tell me this was something from your childhood. PLEASE.
You can amend WP templates [mumbles: if you pay]. Many people host their blogs on separate servers, and then download WP. You can then use whatever template you like, and have a lot more freedom. That’s how I J T E M A works.
And why do you think i would want to hack into your bank a/c? I doubt you make enough to support my lavish lifestyle. :)
Btw, WP doesn’t allow scripts on blogs that they host.
Did no one get the Loony Toons reference?!
Yeah – i kinda did. Is it from the Abominable Snowman character? The one that had a thing for Bugs.
Yep! :D
Haha… I love the Abominable Snowman… :D
Hooptygoo is a little green monster that recites haikus (only partially from my childhood). It’s also the nickname a former roommate gave to a particular muffin bar we liked (actually called “Hop ‘N Go”). Ah, I don’t
Well, I guess I’m not ready to give up Blogger, if only for the sake of Calvin and Hobbes.
Lavish lifestyle? I have enough trouble with the British currency in the first place, everything is so darn expensive out there…
Ah, I don’t
Did you forget to finish your sentence, again? :)
Whoops.
Not sure how much this can help you (I haven’t looked at it much since I’m not a WordPress person), but I found this website that might be helpful to you:
Make your own WP theme
Jazakallah bro… but it is only useful to them folks who run WP off their own site, rather than hosting with WP itself.
Btw, how can you keep forgetting to finish your
Why don’t you try installing WordPress onto …? It’s very easy to do WordPress installations on a server; I’ve done it a few times on sites I maintain and it’s wonderfully simple.
As for forgetting to finish my sentences, that only seems to happen when leaving comments to you, whether on my site or yours. I don’t really have any explanation; my apologies!
I thought about it when i signed up to WP, but to be honest, i couldn’t be bothered at the time. I know how much i obsess with site design, and widgets etc, and i don’t have the time to spare. So i decided to ‘settle’ with WP hosting for now, and think about moving in the future (if i am still blogging).
I have noticed that it is only me who gets the forgetful treatment. I obviously have some kind of negative effect on your brain activity!
Whoops, sorry; I didn’t know that URL was not for public consumption.
Are you the only one who gets the forgetful treatment? I suppose… my blog reading list has been very short of late, and I don’t comment many places at all… so perhaps you are the only one. Purely co-incidence, I’m sure.
Well, the fact that i am worthy enough to make your blog ‘shortlist’ makes up for the temporary comment blackout.
It’s still funny though… i am trying to wonder how it happens… either you type too fast for your brain to keep up, or you wander off to do something else in the middle of writing comment(s) to me. Can’t think of anything else right now, other than alien abduction.
