I forgot to mention that Little Miss iMuslim, here, has gone up in the world – for two weeks, anyway. It's my turn to sit in the illustrious Editor's chair at I J T E M A.

Oh, the power!

I also forgot to mention anything at all about this project, before now. So, to make up for this PR blunder, i've dedicated a whole page to it, on my blog.

Now listen guys, i'm a busy girl. In fact, all the contributors at I J T E M A are hard working folk (hmm, that implies that i, too, am hard working – i didn't mean to do that), so we would really appreciate any help from the blogging public, that would make our lives a little easier. Thus, if you spot any decent blog entries on Islam, and/or the Muslims, that you think are worthy of a shout-out on I J T E M A, then please send them in to us, and we'll consider them for publication. You can even be so brazen as to submit your own work. Can you really pass up such a great chance for some major referral hit activity? Thought not.

Now, back to the Editor's Office for me. I really hope that this new found position of influence and authority, doesn't go to my head.

NB: All bribes, kickbacks, and payoffs can now easily be sent to my PayPal account, via my e-mail address, imuslim_uk(at)yahoo(dot)co(dot)uk. Extortion has never before been so easy!

Does it have to be an article, or can it be an invite to a discussion? (I got loads of them :p)

(I accidentally posted this comment in the “Isnt this Lovely?” entry. Sorry!)

  2. iMuslim says:

Invite to a discussion? Do you mean, like this?

I suppose so… anything you think would be of interest to the wider public. In the case of the example i linked to from your blog, this ‘discussion’ has already been highlighted on Ijtema, by yours truly. :)

We are planning to implement a ‘calling card’ system to notify blog authors that their entries have been chosen for Ijtema… i only edited the ‘about us’ page last night, so that should be in use from today, inshallah (in addition to the WP trackback feature).

  3. Sumera says:

Cool. I’ll submit some interesting links soon (not necessarily all mine :p )

  4. Actually people do have reasons to bribe you. We have been up for over a month now and already our subscription to RSS feeds has reached 63. The hits have been good and Alhamdullilah they are constantly increasing.

Can’t think of anything right now… but insha’Allah as soon as I have more time to make my blogosphere rounds and/or write a new post, I’ll be slipping it under your door, along with a little, ahem, *gift*… :P

ASA, actually sister, i submitted entries a few times, but they never showed up, so I kind of lost interest… though once there was an anti-CAIR article that I responded to, and was dealt with quite quickly. I think it would be a good policy that if you all are looking for tips, then at least have some sort of feedback or acknowledgment of it, even if the tips are not used… otherwise, it seems like a really nice effort mashallah.

    Wa ‘alaykum salam Brother Amad,

I’m not sure, but i think that there was a problem with the submissions form on the site, so perhaps Sharique never saw them? I’ve just e-mailed him about your comment.

Jazakallah for the advice though. We are still trying to find our feet, so your input is most appreciated.

  8. Sharique says:

    Wale kum assalam

I am extremely sorry for this confusion. Actually there was no mail from you so that means that the contact form is not working properly. I recommend that you mail directly to editor(at)ijtema(dot)net
We will definitely acknowledge any tip sent to us.

  9. Amad says:

    ok inshallah will do…

Great project and I was wondering who was the brains behind it.

Loving it and shall keep an open eye for ya!

  11. Faraz says:

I should apologize for my complete neglect of this whole project. I’m impressed with the content that is on the site, and think that it will continue to grow quickly and successfully insha-Allah. It seems like I just underestimated the time I’d need to invest for my local community projects… blogging has fallen very low on my list of priorities unfortunately.

Organic:Great project and I was wondering who was the brains behind it.
Just in case you were mistaken, it wasn’t my idea – Sharique (the head honcho – heh) is the evil genius here – i’m just one of his lackies. :)

Faraz: Don’t worry about it, bro. You have lots on your plate. Blogging isn’t everything!
